English Bread of Life Christian Church In Kaohsiung

　　We are the international ministry of the Bread of Life Christian Church in Kaohsiung, which is a Chinese Church located here. Right now we want to take a few moments and share some information with you to better inform you about who we are and what our purpose is in Kaohsiung.

　　We are a Church that places emphasis on small groups that gather in our homes throughout the week so that members are nurtured, discipled and equipped to fulfill their destiny and purpose in God. Our small groups, called ‘Care Groups’ are not the goal of our church but they are foundational. Just as Jesus chose 12 people and discipled them we believe that to be a disciple of Jesus Christ means to be committed to active Care Group participation so we can be empowered and equipped to serve in our life ministry for God. We have several that meet at different times through the week. These are times when we gather in our homes to eat, ask questions openly and honestly about God, study the Bible, pray for & minister to one another, share our frustrations or just have some plain old fun!

　　We gather together on Sundays at 6:00 PM as a way of celebrating the life of Christ we experience in our Care Groups & every day of the week in community life here in Kaohsiung. Our Sunday Gatherings are times when we are able to get together to celebrate who God is & what He has done as the Creator, Provider and Sustainer of our lives. These are wondrous times of vibrant expectancy—in the presence of the living God! We sing contemporary & classic Christian songs as we praise Him, listen to relevant teachings from the Bible…then afterwards many of us go out for dinner & fellowship! It is not to be missed.

　　We are a gathered group of people that believe in worshipping God with all our hearts and spirit. Maybe you have come from a church that never used drums or electric guitars or sang modern worship songs or maybe you have never been to church before in your life. Either way is okay.Here we believe in worshipping God completely & totally...in full surrender. ..To God alone. We are passionate! This means we worship Him with our hearts, our minds, & our spirits—the total person! We know we may be different from what you are used to—it could be we are too much for some but not enough for others! Just be patient & relax while you find out what God is doing with us here.

　　As far as our beliefs go we stand in the historic stream of Protestant Christianity & are in agreement with the major Christian faith statements in this category. We are in agreement with historic creeds such as the Apostle’s Creed & more recent faith statements by Evangelical Protestant bodies. In our congregation you will find Baptists, Methodists, Presbyterians, Pentecostals, Reformed, Non-Denominational, along with others who would probably choose to describe themselves differently—i.e. Christianity without a label… but there is a sweet unity that pervades the Bread of Life family. All are welcome. We are Christians—brothers & sisters in Christ who are all searching for the real, authentic life in God found only through Jesus Christ.

　　Now, after all that we can sum it up by saying, “WE ARE DIFFERENT”! We do not have all the answers to the questions you may have about God, Jesus, or the Bible. But our journey with Him isn’t over yet. We would be glad to share the answers we DO have with you as we travel together, whether it is for a short time or a long time.We believe that we exist to be relevant to you and help you find your purpose and destiny in God and we’re happy to do that. We also know that this is a lot to think about so if you just want to relax, enjoy the coffee, the tea, and the friendship & ‘check us out’ for a while then we are just happy to have you with us.
